Combing the literary genius of hemming way with the knowledge of Sam calagion k.b. Stevens has created a master piece close to the bible.
The book is filled with shortcuts and bad advice. For instance, wort is chilled by adding cold water (out of the tap). Hardly any time is given to sanitation which is what the beginning brewer needs the most information on. Recipes are bogus. At the end of the book is a long list of titles also by the author. They're all pornography.
This is not a serious book on brewing.
Decent overview with some useful tips. I actually LOL'd when I saw the other books by the same author. ;)

This how-to guide is not a bad place to start, if you're a novice homebrewer, but there are better guides out there for the same price (free). This publication suffers from the same issues that most self-published and -direct publications suffer from - a lack of basic editing. Simple proofreading or using the spell check function of whatever software package was used to type this would really improve the work. The information is pretty good but suffers in its presentation because of grammar issues.
On a much more positive note, the author has included pictures with the step by step instructions - these are invaluable. The pictures help the novice brewer know what right looks like, rather than just reading about it and hoping you're on the right track.
Another positive - the recipes at the end of the book sound like they will be tasty if I decide to test them out. It's still early in the year and I will need ins-beer-ation in my own homebrew endeavors.
